Magic Plumbing a San Francisco Bay Area company agreed to participate and support the PBS 2008 auction. For over 28 years Magic Plumbing has been installing water heaters in both residential and commercial establishments. Tankless water heaters have been are becoming increasingly popular amoung home owners looking to save space and to conserve enery.

One lucky bidder received a new Rheem Tankless Water Heater in San Francisco.

Standard water heaters work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Rheem Tankless Water Heater only heats water when you turn on the faucet, shower, or dishwasher. They save money on energy costs, save space and help the environment!

Rheem Tankless Water Heaters

Imagine never running out of hot water again, shower after shower, bath after bath. Rheem Tankless Water Heaters are the next technology wave in home hot water heating. Whether you’re looking to cut energy use and costs, or just for a way to cut down on the space needed for your water heater, the technology in Rheem Tankless Water Heaters makes this possible.

Unlike tank-based heaters, Rheem Tankless Water Heaters don’t heat – and keep heating – a large tank of water. Instead, they heat only the water you use, right when you’re using it. Turning on the tap draws cold water into the heater and a sensor detects the flow, firing up the burner. The cold water is warmed in the heat exchanger and flows out to the faucet, shower head, washer, or dishwasher. When the tap is turned off, the burner turns off and the heater hibernates until you need hot water again.

What this means to you is lower energy bills because you’re only paying to heat the hot water you actually use. Since there’s no tank, Rheem Tankless Water Heaters are very space efficient and can be located indoors or outdoors. Remote thermostats can be wall-mounted to let you change your water temperature with the touch of a button. Rheem Tankless Water Heaters also have several exclusive safety features, such as a built-in self-diagnostic program, advanced sensors that prevent overheating, and an automatic shut-off system in the event of an error, that give you peace of mind along with all that unlimited hot water.

To get an idea how much you could possibly save on energy costs, visit http://www.rheemtankless.com/content/learn/energyCostCalculator.html

Designed with advanced smart technology, Rheem Tankless Water Heaters provide worry-free operation with exclusive safety features such as built-in self-diagnostic programs, advanced sensors that prevent overheating, and an automatic shut-off system in the event of an error.

Install a Rheem Tankless Water Heater and start saving money – and enjoy endless hot water.

· Save energy, save money, save the environment: Heat only the water you need, when you need it

· Continuous hot water: Tankless Water Heaters provide a steady flow of hot water whenever and wherever you need it

· Compact, space-saving design: Indoor and outdoor models are just over 2 feet tall, weigh 55 lbs or less and attach to an interior or exterior wall

Magic Plumbing San Francisco is now performing Trenchless Sewer Installations in San Francisco with the approval of the Department Of Building Inspection (DBI). Until recently trenchless sewer installations also known as pipe bursting were performed on an as needed basis requiring special approval from the City. All or most other cities surrounding San Francisco already approve the trenchless method without prior approval, San Francisco has been a late comer in allowing the procedure to be performed without special approval. We are very pleased about this said the owner of Magic Plumbing, getting special approval didn’t stop us from performing the installations, whenever it was a better alternative we always had it approved but the extra step of getting approval was time consuming and required an additional fee. Now that we can perform the trenchless pipe bursting method we can provide a better service for our customers because before most inspectors were reluctant to approve this superior way of installing a sewer line in San Francisco.

How does it work?
Magic Plumbing uses the Tric system which works by digging two holes, one where the sewer exits the building and the other at either the property line or in the street where it connects to the mainline. A steel cable is then threaded through the old sewer pipe and a hardened steel bursting head is attached to one end of the cable. The new polyethylene pipe is then attached to the back of the bursting head. At the other end the TRIC hydraulic system is set up which pulls the cable. Once the system has been set up and turned on the operator uses a remote control to “pull” the cable with the head and pipe attached down into the hole at the side of the house. It then pulls the new HDPE pipe through the old pipe breaking it and pushing the pieces out into the surrounding soil. The new pipe gets pulled all the way to the exit hole where the connections are made, it is inspected and then the holes filled in.
